Visual BastArts is an interdisciplinary video agency. We offer state of the art solutions and cover all motion picture areas from production to postproduction. Visual BastArts is first and foremost a full media service and was founded 2000 during his studies of media science at Philipps-University in Marburg, Germany, by Alex Fuchs. Since then he works for many notable companies as freelancing director of photography, creative editor & postproduction supervisor for film & TV. CREATIVE EDITING Alex Fuchs has done the creative editing for Jochen Hicks feature length documentary „East West: Sex & Politics“ (Galeria Alaska Productions) and Sebastian Heidingers feature length documentary „Drifter“ (Boekamp & Freunde Filmproduktion) which were both screened at the 58th International Film Festival Berlin in 2008. „Drifter“ won the independend jury award „Dialogue en Perspective“ in the section „Perspective young german cinema“. At the beginning of 2009 Alex Fuchs edited circa 20 episodes of the weekly talk taxi show „TIMMOUSINE“ for the first german queer tv channel „TIMM“. In later 2009 Alex Fuchs edited togehter with the directors Benjamin Cantu & Anne Bürger the documentary „Streetart - The Ephemeral Rebellion“ for arte (german/france public tv channel). Currently Alex Fuchs is still in the editing process with director Sebastian Heidinger for his new feature length documentary film „Dreamfactory Kabul“ (wt) for german public tv channel ZDF, Kleines Fernsehspiel. DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY Since 2003 Visual BastArts produce again and again music videos including such artists as the norwegian singer-songwriter Einar Stenseng (Leaving Jerusalem) and the australian rock siblings duo BugGirl (Rock'n'Roll Hell), which were played in the popular australien rock tv channel „rage“. At least there are music videos for the native New Yorker singer-songwriter Eva Keretic (Walk with me, a cooperation with Kaskeline Filmakedemie), the irish electro artist NEXUS (Collapsible Structures, dir: Robin Lochmann) and the german mastermind of disco music Freddy Fischer and His Cosmic Rocktime Band (International Lover Disco, dir: Gregor Samsa) of these Alex Fuchs was the director of photography. Beyond that Alex Fuchs worked as DoP for two feature length films: „Lemmy Caution – Ermittlungen gegen die Wirklichkeit (2004, dir: Bernd Reinink) and the english production „Some Sense of Wonderment“ (2005, dir: Luke Alldread). Currently he works as DoP for the first Visual BastArts feature length documentary „Where do you want to go with your desire in the hand? The true story of disco music. (working title)“ EXECUTIVE PRODUCTION Since the end of 2009 Visual BastArts produce their first feature length documentary as executive production. The working title for this production is „Where do you want to go with your desire in the hand? The true story of disco music.“ It's a documentary about the most popular music genre in the 70ths. Alex Fuchs & Ralf Gürtler (Sounds of Subterrania) are developing the concept. IMAGEFILMS, VJ, MAKING OF & EPK PRODUCTIONS & MORE Since 2008 Alex Fuchs works regular as DoP & creative editor for different notable advertising film companies such as Nordisch Filmprodction (Hamburg) Heymann Brandt De Gelmini Werbeagentur AG (Berlin), KellyKellerhoff represents! KG (Berlin), Deutsche Telekom AG (Bonn), Vattenfall AG (Berlin). Above that Visual BastArts produced a bunch of promotional clips and EPKs for music bands. LECTURER Since May 2009 Alexander Fuchs works as lecturer for „Digital Editing & The Aethetics of Editing“ at the Kaskeline Filmakademie in Berlin. During his work at Kaskeline he has supervised a lot of student films in the editing process.
